Great Notley.

A garden village built on the edge of the countryside: thirty years of thoughtful development wrapped around a hundred-acre country park, five minutes from Braintree and twenty from the A12.

Great Notley is not an old Essex village pretending to be new. It was laid out from the mid-1990s on farmland south-west of Braintree, and it shows in the best way: wide verges, connected footpaths, off-street parking as standard, and a country park that was designed in from the start rather than bolted on afterwards.

That makes it one of the most consistent parts of the Braintree market. Buyers know what they are getting (a 1990s-to-2010s house in good order, on an estate with amenity land), and sellers benefit from a shallow discount to asking and a short chain.
